NailLift: A Clinic-Based Treatment for Painful Curved & Involuted Nails

Curved and involuted nails are incredibly common — but also incredibly painful. They can make walking uncomfortable, cause pressure in shoes, and lead to recurring redness or infection-like symptoms. At Metrotown Active Health, we offer NailLift, a non-surgical, painless bracing system that immediately decreases pain, and helps correct nail shape over time.

MAHI is one of the few clinics in Canada trained to provide this treatment.

What are Involuted Nails, and what treatment options are there?

An involuted nail curves downward into the nail bed. Unlike an ingrown nail (which pierces the skin), an involuted nail causes:

  • Pressure

  • Deep soreness

  • Tightness

  • Sensitivity in shoes

Left untreated, it can worsen and become chronically painful.

NailLift is a very effective treatment for involuted toe nails.

What Is NailLift?

NailLift is a shape-memory alloy brace applied to the top surface of the nail. It gently lifts the edges of the nail, encouraging it to grow in a healthier, flatter shape.

Benefits include:

  • Non-surgical

  • No downtime

  • Immediate pressure relief

  • Safe for seniors

  • Pain-free

  • Corrects shape over time

What to Expect During a NailLift Appointment

Your clinician will:

  1. Assess the curvature of the nail

  2. Clean & prepare the nail surface

  3. Apply the NailLift brace

  4. Secure it with gel

  5. Provide aftercare instructions

Most patients walk out with instant relief.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

A single application can last 6–12 weeks depending on nail growth. Some clients need multiple applications; others see long-term improvement with one.
